Another great game by the Dodgers! I'm really pleased with the way these kids try and listen. Thanks to all the great parents for making that happen. Playing on the dirt added a level of difficulty and and a possible distraction, but our kids handled it well. Thanks to Assistant Coach Owen for taking a few pictures.
Our next game is Tuesday July 16 at 6:45pm on Field 3 (the one closest to the playground). Beckman will bring the treats. I won't be at the game, but Ketch will bring the equipment and Coach Steve will get everyone in the right spot.
More pictures here.

Game 3 Report
Thanks for the great turnout for Game 3. Sorry we didn't get everyone in the team picture, but we can get one of those on one of our cameras later in the year if you'd like. Thanks to Tanner and his parents for bring snacks. Thanks to Coach Steve for doing such a great job with the kids at first base.
I'm really happy with the great kids and the great parents on this team. It seems like each kid has improved in all areas, especially hitting. We'll keep working on trying to catch and throw as well.
Thanks to the kids that came for practice on Wednesday. It was a warm one, but had some fun working on playing and throwing to first base.
No game this week because of the 4th of July holiday. We'll skip practice as well. So we'll see you at Game 4 on July 9. We'll be playing on the "real" field. I have a feeling your kids will be coming home a little dirty that night, but we may see some balls get out of the infield.
Here's a few pictures from Game 3, thanks to Owen, my son and team photographer.

Pictures Tonight!
We'll take our team pictures tonight at 6:20, then play Game 3 at
6:45 on field #2. Even if you are not planning on purchasing pictures,
please arrive early for our team photo.
Should be a pretty
nice night, but make sure your children have water to drink between
innings. They'll also need their team hat, team jersey and a baseball
mitt. See you at 6:20.

Game 2 Report
What a fun game. Everyone did such a great job. The hitting was good, the catching was good and the throwing was good. And everyone listened and had a great attitude. Thanks for making the coaching job easy. Thanks to Easton and his parents for bring the treats this week. Thanks to Coach Steve for filling in last week and agreeing to help coach. Thanks to Grace and her parents for bringing treats last week.
As you can probably tell, we're not trying to be pro ball players out there. Our main goal is to have fun. For the first few weeks, I'd like to focus on catching the ball. If you work with your child in the back yard, we want to focus on two ways of catching the ball. When the ball comes to us above the waist, our glove should be open, pointing up and facing the ball. Our thumbs should be touching, and after the ball goes into the glove, our bare hand closes over the glove to make sure the ball stays in the mitt. When the ball comes to us below the waist, our glove should be open, pointing down and facing the ball. Our pinky fingers should be touching, and after the ball goes in to the glove, our bare hand closes over the glove to make sure the ball stays in the mitt. As the weeks go on we'll also focus on throwing and hitting, but right now I'm really happy at the level everyone is at.
I'll try to post a few pictures on here each week, but I often get so wrapped up in the game that I forget. So if you have any you'd like to share, please send them to me and I can post them here.
Our next practice is Wednesday June 19 at the Smiths Field Park. Practice is certainly not mandatory, but it might give us a chance to practice a few things we don't have time for on game day. When you come, please come equipped with sunscreen, drinking water, a cap and a mitt. I'll have bats and balls.
Our next game is Tuesday June 25 at 6:45 on field #2. It's picture day, and Tanner will be bringing the treats.
